Before you walk in the door you may be wondering what a typical service will be like.

Time - During the school year we meet at 9:30 & 10:45 am. Nursery and preschool are available both hours. Sunday School for ages K - 12 is available at 10:45. During the summer we meet at 10 am. Nursery and preschool are available and children who have completed kindergarten are asked to sit with an adult in the service.

Dress - Wear what you like. God doesn't care whether you're formal or casual; after all, he looks at the heart. So come how you are comfortable. But come.

Atmosphere - We meet at Armatage Community School in the Little Theatre. During the week, the theater is full of energetic elementary school students. The location alone makes our get-togethers pretty un-churchy. It's comfortable and homey and unintimidating. You can slip in and sit quietly in the back, if that's your comfort level and mood. Or, you can move down front to be close to the musicians and get right into the worship experience. This is a small community so you're likely to bump into neighborhood friends or meet new ones.

Music and the arts - Guitar. Violin. Vocals. The word for music at City Church is "eclectic." If you have a church background, you may hear something familiar but it's likely to be brought up-to-date. Some of the music may be new, but over time you'll hear music from a variety of traditions - pop, classical, rock, jazz, folk and gospel. We vary musical styles to express different moods, appeal to diverse tastes and augment worship service themes.

Because this community is so rich with artists and the arts, individuals involved in various arts feel at home here and have a community in which they can use their gifts. The arts have always been a way Christians have explored and shared their faith. Together we can use our gifts to express our love for God and address the joy, pain, conflicts and hopes that we confront in our journeys toward deeper faith in him.

Services - No need to check your brain at the door. Through study and worship, you will be stimulated to rich, deep, even life changing thought about spiritual issues. We take on hard issues honestly. But you will also be encouraged and supported. The Bible was written by real people facing real life problems. We'll look at what it has to say to us and our life situations.
